Community Grants

Do you want to set up a new organisation in Bramhope or Carlton and need some start-up funding?  Are you an existing community organisation with a new project in mind or that needs additional equipment?

The Parish Council is keen to encourage activities that will benefit the community.  £3,000 has been put aside in the 2016/17 budget to provide grants of up to £500 for new or existing organisations.  Activities may be social, educational, cultural, environmental or sporting.  Examples of projects to which grants could be made include:

·         a Community Event

·         a contribution to the cost of an ongoing project

·        funding to help set up a new organisation (limited to a maximum of 50% of the costs)

A document that explains the process and the grant conditions in more detail, and includes the Application Form is attached.

Grant applications will be reviewed by a sub-committee of the Parish Council and proposed grants ratified by the full council.  Applicants should provide key information with the application form and may be expected to attend a meeting of the subcommittee to explain their project in more detail.

Applications should be submitted to the Clerk to the Parish Council.

Applications will be reviewed at at the next sub-committee group meeting.
(These grants do not affect existing grants to bodies such as Bramhope in Bloom and the Robert Craven Memorial Hall.  The aim is to stimulate new activities.)
